Holiday let

Staying in or letting a holiday home? Record it on arrival.

Guests can record the place when they arrive and when they leave; hosts, before guests arrive. Take the photos in this app. You get a free receipt. Later, anyone can check the photos existed, unchanged, by that day.

Your files never leave your phone or computer. We only receive the set's fingerprint, a code worked out from the files that can't be turned back into them.

Why record it

A disagreement about damage or cleaning often starts after everyone has gone home, when it is one memory against another.

Photos with an independent date help show what the place looked like on the day.

What the checklist asks for

Arriving

  1. Each room, a wide shot
  2. Kitchen and appliances
  3. Bathroom
  4. Beds and sofas
  5. Floors and carpets
  6. Outside: garden, furniture, hot tub
  7. Anything broken, marked or stained, close up

When you leave, choose "Leaving" and link it to your arrival set. The receipt names the set it follows, and the checker shows the link.

Tips

  • Hosts and guests can both use this: hosts before guests arrive, guests on arrival and when they leave.
  • Tell the host or the booking site about any problem straight away.

What a receipt proves

A receipt proves that these exact files existed, unchanged, by the time shown on the receipt.

What it doesn't prove

  • It does not prove that what a file shows or says is true, or that a scene was not staged.
  • It does not prove who took the photos or made the files, or where.
  • It is not legal advice. Whoever settles a dispute, such as a deposit scheme, a court or a hire company, decides what evidence it accepts.
